Add Series

After clicking the Add or Edit Series button on the Archival Unit form the following form appears:

This form aims to facilitate entering information on the newly added archival series, at one level below the archival subfonds in the archival hierarchy. The following fields are used to introduce basic data on the archival unit:

The Fields of Add Series module

Fonds

The unique identifier of the parent fonds. This has been added at the level of fonds.

Fonds Title

The title of the parent fonds. This has been added at the level of fonds.

Fonds Acronym

The acronym that is entered on the fonds level. This has been added at the level of fonds.

Subfonds

The unique identifier of the parent. This has been added at the level of subfonds.

Subfonds Title

The title of the parent archival unit. This has been added at the level of subfonds.

Subfonds Acronym

The acronym that is entered on the subfonds level. This has been added at the level of subfonds.

Series [Mandatory]

This number will be associated with the series. The number is added manually, with the stipulation of being unique among the series within the subfonds. And also, the series identifier increments by one starting from 1.

Title

This text field is maintained for the English title of the archival series. The title is formulated in compliance with the rules of the AMS Metadata Style Guide.

Acronym

Similarly to the fonds and subfonds level of the Archival Units Module, if the series contains records generated or accumulated by an organizational body, this text field is maintained for entering the acronym of its name.

Original Title

This text field contains the title of the series in the original (non-English) language if the collection has been decided to have a bilingual description. Read more on Languages and Multilingualism.

Original Locale

Drop-down list to choose the language of non-English description. Read more on Languages and Multilingualism.

Theme

A limited list of possible topics to be associated with the series. This list has been compiled in compliance with the collection development policy of the archives so contains three categories: Civil society, Communism & Cold War, and Human Rights. More than one of these categories may be associated with the archival series.

By clicking the Submit button the data on the newly created archival series will be saved.
